Dr Sherene Alexander is a board registered specialist paediatric dentist. In her specialist career spanning over twenty years, her areas of specializations have included managing the special child, paediatric oral pathology, pediatric minor oral surgery and dental trauma.
Sherene is a Senior Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Westmead Hospital and Sydney dental hospital. She holds a Clinical Senior Lecturer appointment with The University of Sydney and Charles Sturt University. Prior to her position at Westmead, she has worked at TUFTS University, Boston; Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and as a Regional Dental Officer for Dental Health Services (DHSV), Victoria.
Actively Educating and Providing Care
Besides being actively involved in the training of post graduate students, she also provides ‘out of hours’ emergency care at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and is a visiting specialist at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
She is one of the few specialists that has devoted her time to providing paediatric dental care to patients in regional NSW ( Orange and Dubbo ) for well over 14 years. She has published widely in several international peer reviewed journals, including co-authoring a chapter in the ‘Handbook of Paediatric Dentistry’.

Outside the Practice
In addition to enjoying Paediatric dentistry, she has an avid interest in woodwork and currently enjoys long distance running and photography.
